North Carolina At Chapel Hill

In a game full of big runs, the No. 17 North Carolina Tar Heels outlasted the Florida State Seminoles by a score of 78-70. RJ Davis once again led all scorers with 27 points on 8-17 shooting with 5 assists and 3 rebounds while Armando Bacot chipped in another double-double with 13 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks in the win. The ‘Noles put together an 18-6 run that spanned halftime and allowed them to build a 13-point 2nd half lead, but the Tar Heels responded with a 31-11 run of their own, holding off FSU for the win.

The Tar Heels chalked up two wins over the past week, with vastly different performances and in doing so, found two new ways to win. The nation’s #1 South Carolina Gamecocks defeated the Blue Devils, 77-61. Duke led by three at the start of the fourth quarter, but South Carolina outscored Duke 22-9 in the final quarter. Reigan Richardson scored a team-high 17 points, making 5 of 9 three-pointers. Delaney Thomas added 13 points, three rebounds, and three steals. For South Carolina, Kamilla Cardoso had a double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds. Chloe Kitts scored 14 points, grabbed nine rebounds, and dished out three assists.

After getting their first win over a ranked opponent under new coach Damon Stoudemire earlier in the week, the Yellow Jackets got their first Top 10 and ACC win under Stoudamire with a 72-68 win over the #7 Blue Devils. Georgia Tech ended the game on a 10-2 run and only trailed for 1:38 in the game. Duke had a chance to tie or take the lead with three seconds left in the game but never got a shot up. Baye Ndongo led the Yellow Jackets with 21 points, five rebounds, four blocks, and two rebounds. Miles Kelly added 16 points and seven rebounds. For Duke, Jeremy Roach had 20 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
