North Carolina beat Gardner-Webb, 72-66, on Tuesday night to move to 3-0 on the young season. After the game, Sherrell McMillan joined host Tommy Ashley to break down the UNC basketball win and to talk about Armando Bacot’s performance at the start of this season.

North Carolina beat Gardner-Webb on Tuesday night, 72-66 behind 20 points from Caleb Love & 18 from Pete Nance. RJ Davis recorded the first double-double of the season for UNC (14pts/10reb) while Armando Bacot fell one rebound shy. Leaky Black followed up perhaps his best career offensive game with another solid performance. Nance finally had the breakout we’ve been waiting for, including making 3 first-half threes.

The No. 13 Tar Heels controlled the game against South Carolina State from start to finish, taking the win 93-25. All five North Carolina starters scored in double figures, with Destiny Adams leading the way at 23 points on 10-14 shooting (to go along with 8 rebounds). Alyssa Ustby claimed a double double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Defensively, the Tar Heels only allowed 7 field goals and forced 23 turnovers.
