It’s two weeks to the day from the first game of the season for North Carolina women’s basketball team. They will host Jackson State on November 9 in Carmichael. Coach Courtney Banghart’s team returns four starters (Deja Kelly, Alyssa Ustby, Kennedy Todd-Williams, and Anya Poole) for the 2022-23 season. The Tar Heels return multiple other players including the sixth woman, Eva Hodgson, who essentially played starters’ minutes at 25.3 per game.

The North Carolina Tar Heels have already received a great deal of preseason hype ahead of the 2022-23 men’s basketball season. They were overwhelmingly selected by ACC media members to win the league, while Armando Bacot was chosen as the preseason conference Player of the Year, while being named to the All-ACC first team along with Caleb Love. RJ Davis was selected to the second team.

Isaiah Wong (Miami), Terquavion Smith (NC State), and Jeremy Roach (Duke) join Bacot and Love on the first team. Jayden Gardner (UVA), Dereck Lively (Duke), Justyn Mutts (VT), and PJ Hall (Clemson) join Davis on the second team.
