Virginia Tech vs. North Carolina: The #19 Tar Heels took care of business at home by defeating Virginia Tech, 71-46.  North Carolina scored 25 points off of 21 Hokie turnovers. Eva Hodgson led UNC with 19 points coming off the bench. Deja Kelly had 15 points, and she had a team-high 10 rebounds. For Virginia Tech, Elizabeth Kitley had a double-double with 14 points and 17 rebounds.

The North Carolina Tar Heels improved to 14-1 on the season with a 71-46 win at home over Virginia Tech in ACC Women’s Basketball play. Eva Hodgson led the Tar Heels with 19 points off the bench for UNC. Deja Kelly added a 15 point, 10 rebound double-double for the Tar Heels and Alyssa Ustby scored 13 and dished out 6 assists in the win. Elizabeth Kitley led Virginia Tech with 14 points and 17 rebounds for the double-double.

THI staff writer Jacob Turner and publisher Andrew Jones hit on 3 Things from UNC’s 74-58 win over UVA in Chapel Hill on Saturday, Jan. 8. The win snaps a seven-game losing streak against the Cavaliers that goes all the way back to the 2017 season.

THI staff writer Jacob Turner and publisher Andrew Jones hit on the news that broke Saturday afternoon that Gene Chizik and Charlton Warren will both be joining UNC’s coaching staff. Chizik has been hired as the Assistant Head Coach for Defense while Charlton Warren will serve as the Co-DC and Defensive Backs coach. Both previously worked under Larry Fedora at Carolina from 2015-2016.

Virginia vs/ North Carolina:The North Carolina Tar Heels looked impressive in their 74-58 win over Virginia at home. Armando Bacot continued his assault on the ACC in the paint with 29 points on 12-of-18 shooting with a career-high 21 rebounds, including 9 on the offensive end. Today marked Bacot’s 11th double-double in 15 games this season. Caleb Love added 16 points on 6-of-13 shooting with 5 assists and 2 steals. The Heels shot well from outside, hitting 11-of-25 from three-point range in the win.
