Reblogged 3 years ago from www.youtube.comThe 2000-01 North Carolina Tar Heels men’s basketball team is one of the most overlooked teams in recent history in the ACC. In Matt Doherty’s 1st season as head coach, the Heels finished with a 26-7 overall record and 13-3 conference record in the regular season and lost to Duke in the ACC Tournament Championship game. UNC earned a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament before eventually being upset in the 2nd round. That team had two players who would eventually be drafted in the NBA as well as future NFL players Ronald Curry and Julius Peppers. Watch as we take a look back and highlight the 2000-01 North Carolina Tar Heels.
