North Carolina lost at home for just the 2nd time ever to Clemson, falling to the Tigers 80-76. Clemson came in desperate and the Tar Heels were riding high after knocking off Duke on Saturday behind big performances from Armando Bacot and Harrison Ingram. The Tigers were the aggressors from the outset and a valiant comeback effort from Carolina was not enough. It was another big game from Armando Bacot. RJ Davis shot well from 3, but was otherwise inefficient from the field. Paxson Wojcik gobbled up most of Seth Trimble’s minutes, who was out with an injury.

North Carolina hosts Clemson tonight just a few days removed from an emotional victory over Duke. Will the Tar Heels be able quickly re-focus on the task at hand? Their ability to do so could determine the outcome. Clemson is desperate, will UNC be able to match that energy? How will Armando Bacot follow up perhaps his best performance of the season? Can UNC once again hold down PJ Hall? Can the Heels keep the Clemson three-point attack in check again? More free throws for RJ Davis, Elliot Cadeau, and the rest of the Heels? Last time these two teams played, there were zero fast break points scored β will that change tonight?
Taylor Vippolis and host Tommy Ashley break down North Carolina’s 80-76 loss the Clemson on Tuesday night on Inside Carolina’s Postgame show. The Tigers started hot, leading the Tar Heels by as many as 16 points before a closing seven point run iced the game after UNC tied the score at 70. Vippolis and Ashley discuss what went right for the home team – not much – and how Clemson was able to consistently hold the Heels at bay in the win.
