Dewey Burke, Greg Barnes and host Tommy Ashley break down North Carolina’s one point loss to Georgia Tech on the Inside Carolina Postgame podcast. RJ Davis’s attempt to save the Heels from the upset was knocked awry at the end, though the senior guard’s 28 points were nearly enough to stave off the loss despite an horrific shooting performance from the rest of the team. An uncharacteristic poor free throw shooting night sealed the visitor’s fate in Atlanta.

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets played a great game, got late-game heroics from a freshman, and upset the No. 3 North Carolina Tar Heels, 74-73. Naithan George got Armando Bacot on a pick and roll switch with 10 seconds remaining and took the big man to the hole for the go-ahead basket. RJ Davis had a shot attempt in traffic as time expired, but couldn’t get it to fall. It was a back-and-forth game throughout, with Miles Kelly, Kyle Sturdivant and George each scoring in double figures for Damon Stoudamire’s club. Davis led the Heels with 28 points in the loss.
