North Carolina held off Villanova in the final seconds in a 67-66 nail biter that advanced the top-seeded Tarheels to the Elite Eight for the first time since 2000. Despite the loss, Randy Foye gave his best effort and led the Wildcats’ offense with a career-high 28 points.

This should've been a Final 4 semifinals game.
Macants is worthless
How was this Villanova team a 5 seed with all that talent? Man I remember this game, we got lucky!
Phantom infraction that cost Villanova a possible championship……
This Nova team, when healthy, was MUCH better than a 5th seed. As a Heels fan I was nervous when I saw them in our region.
dang this even better than 2016 champ game
how many points did kyle have?
If only it could've ended like this in 2016…
Philly toughness my ass bunch of pussies
Retribution! Yeah!!
NOVA had suffocating defense
Remember thinking UNC were destined to win this tournament after beating Villanova. Should have lost this game. This was a really good Carolina team. The Doherty 3 get Roy his first national title.
this game would've been great if they didn't call the travel
Randy Foye was an incredible college player and a decent pro but Lowry turned out to be the best pro between these 2 schools.
The travel call was a terrible call and it left a foul taste in my mouth for days afterward, but in reality that wasn't what held Villanova back in this game. What really kept this game close was the fact that Jason Frazer and Curtis Sumpter were injured. If both had stayed healthy for the 2005 tournament and the 2006 season we could have realistically seen a Villanova team win at least one National Title, potentially even back-to-back.
rigged? lol villanova goes to the line on every possession the last 2 minutes of the game and they were down by 10. that call on felton was the weakest thing ive ever seen. the refs had everything going for nova the last couple minutes. That travel call was obviously huge in a 1 point game, but rigged? No way, too many calls going against unc for this game to be rigged in their favour. That last play he shuffles his feet as he catches the ball, reverse pivots, dribbles, takes a giant step, takes another step after running into a defender coming towards him, then moves forward and releases the ball before both feet touch the ground. 3 steps
UNC had 23 personal fouls Nova only had 21. Enough of this "rigged" bullshit.
Damn. Can't believe it's been 9 years.
Randy Foye showed out this game! This game was a great one
I'll never forget watching this game as a teenager w/ my Dad who's a Villanova alumni … Allen Ray makes the basket, and 1 … waved off for a phantom walk that doesn't even come close to happening … and the worst is Rafferty claiming that he took 3 steps when he clearly does not
Most rigged fucking game ever
