The actual final game was state in January 1986. But I was there for what we thought was the final game with my dad. And on Sunday December 15th there will be a encore of sorts as the Wofford game will be played there, And I will be there with my son on his 12th birthday. Such a special place, I am so fired up to get to see one more game there.
If James Worthy stayed for his senior year,they would have won another national championship and if Kenny Smith would have been 100 percent in 1984 ,they won a national championship as well We would have been a 3peat in College basketball
Over rated. These players weren't taught to WIN AT ALL COST..they had to do it the "right way". And anyone with a functioning brain (which excludes most Tarheel fans) knows that this simply leads to losing. Nobody disappointed more in the Bug Dance than UNC. Dean Smith and his moronic 4 corners system is a joke. Robert Montgomery Knight is the greatest coach of all time. Taught his players to WIN. He had no use for those who didn't win. This is why he constantly outcoached your so called hero. Knight demanded excellence and Smith demanded good character. Give me excellence. Character and doing things the right way are for losers and in breeders. .ie Tarheel fans.

I miss Carmichael too. Watched as a kid through late 70's and in early 80's. That place was magic.
I'm sorry to say that the "Dean Dome" has never, can never, match the atmosphere of Carmichael.
