The North Carolina Tar Heels defended their home turf and defeated #18 Syracuse, 92-68. Janelle Bailey scored 25 for the Heels and grabbed 8 rebounds, and teammate Deja Kelly added 22 points, 8 assists and 5 rebounds in the win. For the Orange, Emily Engstler led the team in scoring with 18 points.
