I say he went out in top…..beat duke twice, destroyed notre dame ,ncsu and louisville and beat kentucky along with some other good wins….that's a good finish , to me…. Ole roy has his faults, even he will admit that, but record and accomplish ments speak for them selves… Now that he is retired…maybe he will tell everyone why he doesn't call a timeout when the team desperately needs it and every other coach in that situation would….come on Roy, tell us now…lol…
Dean and Roy were so closely aligned that in a lot of ways, this is the end of an era that started in 1961. There were a few hiccups during the transition, but I think part of the reason this is so hard to grasp today is that for generations fans and alumni have known nothing but steady stewardship of the program. Alumni are spread out all over the world, but we were all back in Chapel Hill today. I'm going to take some time to appreciate that, and not think about the next coach right now.
LOL shots fired at jalen johnson. Roy wasn't going to "opt out". Anyways, depending on what Roy knew about the academic scandal, I'm either sort of sad to see him leave; or he can kick rocks.

Coach Williams went full βOl Roy and that is the beauty of basketball and life. This press conference should be required viewing for ALL of mankind and humanity because he genuinely cares about his players, his mentors and his university. Whatever a term thatβs better than Class Act, this is THAT.
