North of Main Street says:

If the price is right Mark Few would leave. Jay Wright isn’t leaving Nova

christschool says:

Wes Miller plays all the top teams every year. He is the man UNC should go after, period. He's done more with less than any other team in the NCAA.

christschool says:

UNC would not recruit a coach from the SEC, Vanderbilt excepted, period. Don't underestimate the "stink" the SEC perception is in NC.

Keith Watts says:

Tony Bennett

Bud For you says:

Mark few is not going anywhere

Ken Summerlin says:

I think Mark Few is a perfect fit. I also think you're on track with your thinking otherwise a coach would be named by now. Carolina can't drag this out with the transfer portal. They gotta wait to talk to Few until after the Zags season is over. I think he's the first call.

sugarcrisp7 says:

The two candidates I would go for would be those who have played at North Carolina. I know without a doubt Michael Jordan will NOT be the head Coach and of course, that is my opinion which is minute at best. So, here we go. Hubert Davis has played at UNC, the NBA, and has been an assistant Coach at UNC. That means A. He knows the system. B. He has been an awesome recruiter for UNC and C. He has a good repour with the players that are coming back which may not seem important right now but I think it a least helps in some way or the other. Finally, I think that Wes Miller should be considered because A. He played for Roy B. He knows the system at UNC and C. His record is 125-43 overall and 70-20 in the league with two NCAA appearances and two NITs. He currently coaches at UNC Greensboro. Don't think UNC will look outside the UNC Family but stranger things have happened before and who know they may find a gem in the rough!

christianirons says:

Typical UNC trying to hire from within instead of going for it. Think duke is going to promote someone when Coach K goes? Not a chance, they'll get a big name. CMON UNC this is the time!

Seth Eheart says:

"It's North Carolina!" No on cares anymore. People are succeeding other places and are happy. Even for the money, people won't go. UNC will get their 2nd choice.

80s Rocker says:

If Davis doesn’t get this job then it’s a crime. Lol

Charles Bever Diggs says:

Billy D is the next coach at UNC because he a winner and a big time recruiter and take unc to the next level

Greg Hall says:

Please stop with Larry Brown. He's older than Roy and NCAA allegations follow him everywhere he goes.

Ron Mitchell says:

First of all you don't understand UNC. It is a culture here. My cousin played on the 93 championship team. Trust me UNC is keeping in the family. Those former players play a major role in keeping the program going.

YoungusSC says:

I really don't think Few cares about more money. If that was a major consideration he could have got that pay day already. My biggest concern as a zags fan would be that if they win the chip this year he considers it mission accomplished at Gonzaga and is ready for a new challenge. That plus his relationship with Roy MIGHT make him consider it. The other thing is that its widely accepted that he is grooming Tommy Lloyd to be his successor. Maybe he is ready to let Tommy take the reigns.

Really hope it doesn't happen but the story line seems plausible. At least the zag fanbase can rest easy that he will never leave for another school if he turns this one down.

kenney0313 says:

As great a coach as he is, Mark wouldn't do well at UNC because he gets guys who need 3-4yrs to fully develop as players, which is hard at UNC. Most guys go to UNC because they have a great chance to play 1-2yrs and go Pro. The next coach should be a former Tar Heel like Hubert Davis or Stack. Those 2 guys will be able to recruit because they're still plugged in with young hoopers or their aau coaches. There's a few more guys, but those 2 are my initial options.

Bruce & Sue Shearer says:

He has a very vaunted view of N.C. Yes, they have a great history, but they are not nearly as much on a higher pedestal than he would have us believe. They are a good, solid program but we have seen in recent years they are very beatable. I'm not sure a 5-star player would look solely at the school just because it's N.C. Much more into the decision.

David Hernandez says:

Tarheels is going to get an elite coach every which way you see it the brand the name N.C.powder-blue & that's it.
