I don't see Jay Wright or Mark Few leaving their current programs. I'm a UNC fan and I think they are both GREAT coaches and good guys and they would do great things for Carolina basketball, but I think they've been so successful at G and V, that they won't leave. and shouldn't. Stackhouse is probably not ready yet, although I'm a fan of him. Hubert is probably the best in-house person to go with. but man, ya can't limit yourselves to that.
Kenny Smith is not a candidate. And Hubert Davis would be mistake. He has no coaching experience. Nor should they hire Wes Miller. Being head coach at UNC G is not like being head coach at Carolina. They have to go after a big time coach. Someone like Mark Few, Jay Wright, Brad Stevens or Tony Bennett
Hubert Davis is the logical choice. He's going to have to get away from that old system.
One guy I would try to contact is Billy Donovan. Carolina will make a huge mistake if they limit their search to Carolina guys who played there. Duke may make the very same mistake when Krzyzewski leaves. Roy was on the bench at Cameron Indoor during Krzyzewski's first win over Dean Smith in 1981. I was in the bleachers behind Williams, then an assistant. Williams left for the head job at Kansas. If Davis doesn't get the promotion, he must leave Chapel Hill.

Let’s just get over the whole Hubert Davis thing. It’s not going to happen. He’s a super nice guy but really has no head coaching experience. Hubert will sadly move on else where. Also, Jordan is at 0% as well.

Who knows for sure at this point? Within a week they should know because players and recruits will start getting most antsy. I hope the next coach can best deal with the modern kid and his helicopter parents. Maybe I’m old school but my parents would have said son, your now at least 18 and u need to begin figuring out your own life and make ur own decisions. That’s what makes u a man. Your mom and I want to see u mature in such a way. They would consider the coaches as the best experts.
lol coach FEW will never go to UNC… He love the PNW great home fishing community etc. He is not about the money and dedicated to the University that gave him an assistant coaches job Dan Fitzgerald and then Dan Munson. HE IS GOING NOW WHERE always a ZAG. GO ZAGS
Kenny Smith? When has he ever coached? Pete Buttigieg has probably never even played a sport.( I know it’s the Celtics sorry coach). Mark Few the only one I would even speak with. I know the jet played at UNC but that doesn’t qualify him. Matt Daugherty played there & coached there & got fired. Just cause you’re a good player doesn’t mean you will be a good coach.

I do not understand these Brad Stevens rumors. He is coaching one of the marquee franchises in the NBA, he has maximized the talent on that team and sent them to 3 eastern conference finals. He can eventually win a championship in Boston, why would he bail before getting a NBA chip?
Mark Few might pick up the phone, but it would only be to say "Thanks but no thanks." Hunter Sallis coming in and possibly Chet Holgrem, Zags are going to be #1 in the country next year by a wide margin.
Roy will miss being around all those UNC scholars from the team. He's asked to come back and sit in on their basket-weaving classes this fall. What happened to the investigation, players' papers and exams done by others? All part of the "legacy."
