Virginia Tech vs. North Carolina: The 7th-seeded Hokies defeated the 3rd-seeded Tar Heels, 72-59, and Virginia Tech will be advancing to their first-ever ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament Championship Game. The Hokies led by six at halftime, they then started the second half with a 9-0 to push the lead to 15, and not UNC would never cut the lead to below 11 after that. Virginia Tech hit nine three-pointers while holding North Carolina to 3-26 shooting from behind the three-point line. Darius Maddox led the Hokies in scoring with 20 points, hitting on four of five three-point attempts. Keve Aluma had 18 points, four rebounds, and three assists. For UNC, Armado Bacot had another double-double with 19 points and 14 rebounds. Brady Manek, R.J. Davis, and Caleb Love each scored 10 points.

Absolutely pitiful performance by UNC, just all around trash game. Hubert Davis has got to be better at having these guys focused ready to compete night in and night out. Also HD needs better use of time outs to stop runs and rally them guys, “validate” them. Not a single player showed confidence offensively which effected the way they played defensively. Frustrating game to watch as it seem the players heads were not in the game. I do think we are a tournament team but It could very well be a quick out in the big tournament this year. Something is just missing with this squad- to many blowout losses this year. UNC had always been a multiple 5 star first option destination for HS ballers. UK and Duke has been winning the recruitment battle these last few years.
Viriginia Tech deserved it, the Tar Heels did not. Nothing more to be said about it. Advance congrats to Duke on their 2022 ACC championship.
UNC never put the Duke victory behind them. The next game against UVA was a reminder of the earlier tar heels beginning the season. VA tech didn't beat us we destroy ourselves and Coach Davis didn't get that Duke victory out of our head. The Duke victory is only one game. We played two bad games after. We scored 94 points against Duke. The next two games avg about 60 points. That Duke game wasn't the real UNC. We played Ike crap the two games in acc tournament. That Duke victory was not the real unc. We showed our true selves in.the acc tournament. We got down 20 points in a tournament. We the number 3 seed. We ain't Good at all. The Duke victory fooled me. Back to the same unc team no heart, no fight and get blown out again for the fifth times this season. This team isn't a chip team. UNC fooled me. Rj Davis really fooled me. I've been hoodwinked by my team UNC

Once again the 2021-2022 UNC men's basketball team exhibits the truth about the limitations of this team and program. Any major wins this group had during the 2021-2022 season were flukes.
