The book chronicles the journey of Duke’s mens basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski, better known as Coach K. Ian shares some of the fondest memories he has with Coach K, compares Coach K to UCLA basketball great John Wooden, and Duke’s rivalry with Dean Smith, Roy Williams and the North Carolina Tarheels basketball. I KNOW PEOPLE WANT TO SELL THEIR BOOKS, BUT THE FACTS THEY OMIT ARE OFTEN VERY TELLING! K's record against Dean was 10 games under .500…He tied Dean with 2 titles when they coached at the same time; he only had 2 to Roy Williams 3 when they coached at the same time. He also had less Final 4 appearances than UNC and less tournament wins, and far less ACC regular season championships than UNC. HE IS A GREAT COACH, BUT HE IS NOT BETTER THAN DEAN OR ROY. If it weren't for 3 years of Matt Doherty, he'd also be under .500 all-time. ..those are the FACTS!

Not a Duke fan but hoping Coach K wins it this year in his last dance. I always loved his patriotism for the country and how much he loved Coaching Team USA.

Interestingly, I believe UNC, with 3 coaching changes, has more Sweet 16s, Elite 8s, and Final Fours than Duke during Coach K's tenure, and the same number of National Championships. Those are 2 Elite Programs.

Come on, Many years when Dean was coaching only the conference champion went to the NCAA and Roy won more championships than K during the time Roy was at UNC. Head to head, both Roy and Dean had winning records against K.

I did meet the legendary coach at a very impromptu and vulnerable time for him.
I am not a Coach K fan but I can tell you my personal encounter with him in 1986 impressed me beyond words. . The guy showed amazing class and left a powerful impression on me.
O’Conner just isn’t that intelligent. Duke beat Kentucky without breaking a sweat and took out Gonzaga as well, early in the season. He was absolutely NOT surprised that Duke won its Sweet 16 game. He was happy and delighted, but not at all surprised.
