Novum Domine says:

What many tend to forget is that the ncaa tournament first allowed non conference champs to play in their tournament in 1975. UNC has 15 final four appearances in the past 47 years. Duke with 14. Which means, since 75, there is a 60% chance Duke or Carolina will wind up in the NCAA final four. UNC has 9 title appearances in that stretch. 5 wins and 3 losses prior to Monday’s game. Duke has 10 title appearances since the field expanded to allow non conference champs. They are 5-5. Which means that since 1975 there is a 40% chance either team will appear in the title game. A 22% one of them will win the title.
There is also a 69% chance the ACC will be represented in the final four. A 51% chance an ACC team will play for the title. A 29% chance an ACC school win it all.
So compare that to the SEC’s 26% chance to be in the title. The Big East and Big 10 at 33%. The Big 12 at 20%. The lowly PAC-12 at 13.3%.
Trying to compare another conference’s accolades to the ACC in basketball is like comparing Pop Warner to the NFL.
There is a higher probability that UNC or Duke will appear in a title than any other entire conference in the country. Aside from just 3 other conferences, a better chance Duke or Carolina will win it all than 310 programs have of doing so. Just think about that.
Oh, and fun fact. Coach K’s first and last loss at Duke came at the hand’s of, yep, UNC.

Danny Devito says:

I speak for all my fellow UNC fans when I say: “Check Mate Dookies”

Danny Devito says:

As a die hard tar heel fan you cannot blame Duke’s players for not wanting to shake hands. This is a bitter, BITTER rivalry and that Loss hurt them. Bad. I wouldn’t want to shake anybodies hand if I was on that team, regardless of who it is. Duke fans are seething

salt wagon says:

ahhhh Duke classes, not surprising.

Dalton Conner says:

Don't know that ball headed dudes name with the glasses but he picked Duke just like every dummy did except Seth Greenberg of ESPN then comes on the show next day like they weren't stuck on stupid the night before. Analysts and critics think they know every damn thing and don't know shit.

michael sumner says:

This was an ugly game
Only thing missing was a fist fight

Jordan McLaughlin says:

A LUCKY 3 won the game, congrats. No shot at all against Kansas, especially relying on 3s only 😂

Dead eye says:

Dean Smith was a better man and a better coach. His spirit was in the building. Heels blocked his last two potential accolades.

Michaelangelo says:

Carolina won 2 of 3 because they're the better team ! Free throws beat Duke . 60% ain't going to cut it ! Not to mention pissy 3PT shooting ! So cry me a river!

Warwick Aiken says:

Epic win after an ultra-tight game. Coach Davis's recruiting success is going to be sky high, even if they lose Monday. Who wouldn't want to play for Coach Davis and Carolina right now?

Gerardo Alcantara says:

Def not ad good as UCLA/Gonzaga

Alfred Guinto says:

Duke players wants NC for revenge!
No choice or St Pete beat duke

B Crater says:

Too bad Coach Davis had to bring in a graduate student ringer, who had already played his collegiate career in the Big Ten, to make the difference. Hope this doesnt ring another death knell to collegiate basketball, like one-and-done did.

roy merritt says:

Manek played great defense, blocked three shots, one by Banchero who seemed reluctant at the end and though he was big for Duke was held to just 20 points. And Leaky Black did an outstanding job on whomever he was guarding at any given moment in the game. Wendell Moore got 10, A. J. Griffin got 6, and Jeremy Roach who all the pundits were saying was perhaps the most essential player on Duke's roster for this game was held to 8 points merely getting the same amount of points that Leaky got. Even Mark Williams who made some spectacular dunks during the game only got 8 points. And then late he missed two big foul shots which the Heels brought down the court for a big three by Love. Manek had two big threes in the second half and frankly, I believe has been the X factor in this run to the title game. And of course, R. J. Davis has played lights out during the whole tournament. This team win, or lose Monday night I believe will go down in Tar Heel lore as one of the most heralded teams in the school's history because they spoiled Mike Krzyzewski's last hurrah for his career and which is something that can never be undone for all time. Brady Manek in only one year has put his name in the pantheon of great players who went to UNC. He wanted to get past the first round which was something that his experience as a member of the Oklahoma Sooners he could never accomplish and so he took the chance to finish up a Tar Heel. And he got what he wanted and more because he has a chance to play for the national championship and probably enhanced his chances of playing in the NBA or getting some good paydays overseas. In my opinion, though some NBA team would be smart to sign him because of his ability to hit threes which now has seemingly become the main strategy in this present iteration of the NBA has taken.

Truth B. Told says:

We beat those Bums with 5 players, count-em 5! What a bunch of scrubs! Duck Fuke!!!!! And you wont win another Chip for at least 20 years! Go Heels!

Truth B. Told says:

In our win at Cameron on March 5, 2022, Mike K said that loss was unacceptable. Why, was it unacceptable, you got beat by a better team! So, Mike what was this loss, Highway Robbery? Duck Fuke!!! Go Tarheels, we are in the last game of the 2022 season!

HD Delano says:

Slays Duke? 4pts is a slay lmao Realistically was a 1pt win for UNC. Very good game and not sure how Duke managed to stay in it when everyone got in foul trouble within 5mins. A win is a win but would have been different game if not for the cheap fouls. Had Duke won, all you would hear is the refs gave it to them. Refs did everything possible to make Duke lose this time but you don't hear that😂😂😂

Underground Wes says:

GO HEELS!!!

unclejohnthezef says:

Bye Bye mikey

Alfred Guinto says:

NC Duke rivals is over!
Come back next year and see what you got

Christopher Miller says:

The zebras sure tried hard to turn the tide.

Joseph Hobbs says:

Let’s keep this in mind, Coach Davis got UNC to the National Championship game without any All-Americans. That’s amazing! He is for real!No way Roy Williams gets this team past the first game in the NCAA Tournament with his substitution patterns and overall game management.

lion man says:

Remember Carolina entered that first home game against duke playing well and undefeated at home. Carolina followed that duke home loss to another home loss to Pittsburgh.

Adereio Jones says:

Great Win Carolina!! #TarHeelNation

Kakky Coasties says:

The foul call on Roach that was NOT a foul, and the 2 missed FT's from Mark were what did it. That foul doesn't get called, we're up 1 still with the ball back.
