North Carolina center Armando Bacot officially announced on Wednesday that he would be returning for his senior season. This is enormous news for head coach Hubert Davis who will now have one more year with his record-setting big man and the most indispensable player on his roster. It will also allow the freshmen big men an opportunity to develop under an ACC Player of the Year candidate. NIL considerations certainly played a huge role in this decision.
On the less positive side of things, Dawson Garcia and Anthony Harris have each decided to enter the transfer portal. Garcia’s news broke on Wednesday morning while Harris’s decision came out Wednesday afternoon. No word yet on where they will each transfer. With Garcia, given his family’s health struggles, one would expect him to land somewhere close to home. Best of luck to both young men as they explore new opportunities.
Host Isaac Schade unpacks the ramifications of all three decisions, chief of which is the impact on the 2022-23 roster and how scholarship math will be broken down. Carolina currently sits at 12 scholarships used of their potential 13. That number does not include Leaky Black, the Heels would be at the right number of 13. We are still awaiting decisions from Black, Caleb Love, RJ Davis, and to see if any other players decide to transfer.

Bacot was named to the ACC All-Academic team. All-Academic at UNC 😂😂😂. It’s not real hard for basketball players at UNC to make good grades with those FAKE CLASSES with no attendance required 🤣🤣🤣 And someone to write your one-page term paper for you. 😂😂😂 2005 and 2009 sham, FAKE banners….6 titles but 2 are Fake and illegitimate. 🤣🤣🤣. UNC is known for 20+ years of academic and athletic FRAUD, but the NCAA wouldn’t touch UNC, but the NCAA will hammer other schools for far, far less.

2. I'm bummed to see Harris go, but by all accounts Garcia leaving isn't a surprise and is better for everyone involved. I hope both find success next season.
3. Re: Harris defense— I think Puff has a high ceiling as a defender. He could be our next lockdown defender after/alongside Leaky. Imagine the two of them effectively eliminating 2 players from the opposing team…
His name is Hansbrough not Hanborough. If you can't pronounce the players names correctly you should go away and quit trying to pretend you know anything about Carolina basketball.
I believe RJ, day in and day out, is more important to UNC simply because of his position (PG). He's definitely capable of scoring equal to Love. He out rebounds Love, and I think he's more consistent than Love. Don't get me wrong, I like Love.
He's definitely an intricate part of our chances nxt year to hang a banner.
I hope that everyone else stays so the roster stays set. Everybody besides the incoming freshmen (not including Shaver) are now used to the system and the way that Coach Davis likes to do things. Just gotta polish up on the things they do well, and improve on the things they don’t do well.

I thought Harris was going to be that sleeper guy that would ad a spark during games off the bench. He did that a few times before he got hurt in his feshman season.
I said this weeks ago! I said bacot will come back I been unsure about Caleb but bacot coming back. I said weeks ago in your comment that Garcia was gonna transfer. I also said Anthony Harris was gonna transfer too bc of the speculation his injuries and word about his academics. Him transferring makes space for leaky. 14 scholarships. Now I think Kerwin might transfer if Garcia goes to Minnesota bc they from the same state school same AAU team. We are the frontrunner for GG Jackson and it's possible he might reclass.
