Kerwin Walton Enters the Transfer Portal | Who Should UNC Target to Replace Him?

North Carolina Tar Heels guard Kerwin Walton has entered the transfer portal. It’s a move that many anticipated or saw coming, however with the immediate transfer opportunity deadline approaching it seemed that perhaps Walton would stay after all. Perhaps the thought of being part of another deep run was enticing for him. With many of his teammates coming back, including Caleb Love, RJ Davis, Leaky Black, and Armando Bacot, the opportunity to be part of a hugely successful team was right in front of him. However he decided to choose a different route, and one likely paved with more playing time. Best of luck, Kerwin.

At the same time, Coach Hubert Davis must move ahead and make decisions about how best to utilize the final open scholarship. Host Isaac Schade posits many various possibilities, including one transfer who has already committed elsewhere.

If Coach Davis doesn’t find the player he wants in the transfer portal, he could certainly entertain some alternative options. What are they? You’ll have to check out the show to find out!

Christopher Leak says:

Now with an available scholarship, could GG Jackson reclassify? I believe he would really help with this veteran team coming back.

Christopher Leak says:

I wish we would have played Kerwin more. He is a good shooter.

Christopher Leak says:

UNC should target these guys that have been texting Bacot.

Pavan Bhojwani says:

Good luck to Kerwin. Wish him all the very best. One of my favorite players at UNC. Hoped all year that he'd get his shot going again and get back into the rotation.
Patrick Baldwin Jr. is the perfect replacement as a stretch 4.

Frank Pearsall says:

Terrance Shannon would be a great pick up

Frank Pearsall says:

We need a big man in case, God forbid, Bacot would have to miss time

Michael Gore says:

Thank you Kerwin

Truth B. Told says:

What happened to KW last year he was hitting his shots, and then he just dropped off! Good luck to you kid. Go Heels!!!!

Kevin Butler says:

I want to thank Kerwin Walton for what he did while he was at UNC. He was awesome to watch during his freshman year. Great teammate and great kid. I wish him the best of luck in the future.

Kevin Butler says:

Bring in a big that can shoot. Having Shaver and Washington as backups are not very ideal at this point. I have been hot on KJ Williams from the start and I'm still hot on him. He's got size, he can step out and shoot ,plus he can help Bacot inside and provide minutes in the event Armando gets hurt/foul trouble. Check out his highlights.

Mike 2000 says:

One of my favorite player. Gonna miss this young man. Great shooter needs to work on defense. I wish him the best. Thanks for coming to UNC.
