It’s the 2nd week of the summer preview for the 2022-23 North Carolina men’s basketball roster. We continue with the freshmen and work our way through the roster. This week is Tyler Nickel, from Elkton, Virginia. Nickel is a 6’8″, 210-pound pure scorer. So pure, in fact, that he is Virginia’s all-time leading high school scorer, breaking Mac McClung’s record and passing people like Allen Iverson along the way.
Nickel comes in with a lot of confidence and swagger. He expects to be able to score at every level (including his own so-called “4th level” because his range is so deep).
When the first team of Caleb Love, RJ Davis, Leaky Black, Armando Bacot and one other player goes out, Nickel will immediately help provide scoring punch to the second unit.

Can’t agree with that Wayne Ellington comment I think Luke Maye was our last stretch 4. I had to think about it for a minute but he was probably the most talented stretch 4 we have had in the last decade.
