A Twitter user published a list of the nine most-viewed basketball games of 2022 thus far, regardless of league or level. Seven of the nine games on the list are from college basketball, while just two come from the NBA. It leads host Isaac Schade to say that college basketball is alive and well.
Moreover, the top three games on the list are all college basketball games. All three involve the North Carolina Tar Heels. Those three games are UNC vs. St. Peter’s (Elite Eight), UNC vs. Duke (Final Four), and UNC vs. Kansas (National Championship). Carolina is also alive and well. Caleb Love, RJ Davis, Leaky Black, Brady Manek, and Armando Bacot put on quite a show for the Tar Heels and many people nationally took notice. Hubert Davis has something cooking in Chapel Hill and you better make sure to grab a seat at the table before it’s too late.
While many have argued that it’s time to split NCAA basketball into several sections to allow for more competitive opportunities for mid- and low-major schools, doing so would deprive all of us of schools like St. Peter’s in 2022 and Oral Roberts in 2021. Keep the NCAA Tournament as is, because Cinderella is alive and well.

I can’t watch the NBA anymore. It’s just street ball now. Jacking up 3’s for almost half of their field goal attempts. No defense, no play development. It’s hard to watch and I hope that college basketball does not get any closer to their style of play than they already have.

I’d as soon watch paint dry on a wall as watch an NBA game. NBA represents all about individual play with no defense. College basketball = team play.
