NBA Draft night came and went for Brady Manek without hearing his name called. After everything he showed in Chapel Hill last year alongside Caleb Love, RJ Davis, Armando Bacot, and Leaky Black, it seems that at least one NBA franchise would take a shot on him. Coach Hubert Davis said earlier in the week that Manek will be in the NBA next season. So now we wait to see what transpires in terms of a two-way contract and/or a Summer League Invite.
During the draft, host Isaac Schade couldn’t quit thinking about Leaky Black. Why? So many of the names being drafted or signed to two-way contracts were players that Black shut down last season, including Paolo Banchero, AJ Griffin, Dereon Seabron, and Justin Lewis.
Walker Kessler was drafted 22 by the Memphis Grizzlies. Garrison Brooks was not drafted.

This one is not so much of a surprise. But, I am surprised that of all the teams, the Spurs and Coach Pop, did not see the value in a 6ft10inch big THAT CAN LEGIT SHOOT THE LIGHTS OF THE BUILDING.
Plus, they had multiple draft picks. #headscratchingmoment

I am irked but not surprised Brady wasn’t drafted. NBA drafts based on potential and they view Brady as a player with too many limitations. However he is arguably the best 3 point shooter in the draft and I feel the NBA looked over that. I really believe in Brady and I think he can have a successful, long basketball career.
I told Brady that him not being drafted tonight is a direct negative reflection of the NBA and not him. I always try to stay objective and not be biased and for 99% of the time I am. I’m harder on my Tar Heels than any other Team or Program in the country. But NBA GM’s and scouts for the most part are idiots. I can’t even watch the NBA anymore because it is pure street ball. Almost half of their field goals are jacked up from the 3 point line. The art of the game is gone. I hate to say it but I was almost certain that Brady was not going to get drafted. Not because of him but because of them. However this could be a Blessing for him in that he has more control over where he would like to go when offers come in for him. Yeah it’s 4:30 am and I’ve been up all night because I feel bad for him that he did not get his named called but now is a time for perseverance and determination. Brady is a sweet kid and a phenomenal player. He will find his Team sooner rather than later. #TarHeelFamily
He shoulda got drafted
A veteran…. that has his own record to back up his worth , not even giving a chance. Hopefully he gets signed a contract , and shows these other teams they missed out! He has value….. what else does a man have to do! He’s proven , he is a scorer ….the NBA 3 point Line… is a whole new game and he fits the bill….there’s a bunch of boneheads running these teams in the NBA! They follow the hype schools and we know who that is!
