Could Bronny James be a Tar Heel? | Is he considering going to college & if so, is UNC an option?

The long-held consensus is that it’s not worth recruiting Bronny James (LeBron’s son), for a multitude of reasons. For one thing, no one is sure if he’ll actually go to college or if the James camp will have him go to G-League Ignite or just train for year. Secondly, many wonder if it’s worth the circus of recruiting (and landing) Bronny given everything that would come with having LeBron’s son on your roster and campus. Thirdly, there’s also a question of just exactly how good he is. At this point, we’re not even sure that he would be a starter at the high major level.

Multiple betting sites have begun putting out odds for where the younger James will ultimately go to college, with Oregon, North Carolina, and UCLA typically showing up top three in some order. Sports Illustrated’s Jason Jordan says that it’s worth Hubert Davis and other doing their due diligence to check in, but that he doesn’t think James ultimately goes to college.

Cris Howerton says:

I would love to see this.

Robert Creekmore says:

I would not want this would be a disaster witn lebron distraction no way and he's not that good either

Chad Hickes says:

I know Lebron would love to play with his son in the NBA. But as a parent for a kid with Bronny’s talent and Lebron’s overall experience, talent and success why would you force the issue with the pro’s? Bronny clearly doesn’t need the money. The kid is a #75 to maybe #35 recruit and as a parent I would want my son to experience college. I would want him to have that lifelong experience and develop from there.

Wynnfall says:

This was a great, level headed discussion đź‘Ź i feel like Bronny is just showing flashes of being a future NBA rotation player, but all the G League and one and done talk seems absurd. Love his pops and he seems about as poised and level headed as reasonable – was on a public flight with Sierra Canyon last year and they were extremely polite and charismatic to random fans walking up and then the ensuing gawkers who whispered about who they were. I can't imagine that sort of attention at their age, def rooting for Bronny to take another step up this year and establish himself as a name in his own regard.

eaglesmgc says:

Complete waste of a podcast. I truly hope this kid doesn't come to UNC!!!!

Charles Diggs says:

LeBron will not let be himself were ever he goes he will be fussing about his playing time we don't need that at unc but we wish him good luck

Tony Dowd says:

James won't play at Carolina simply because of the Jordan brand. I'll leave it at that.

Tim Knew says:

Sorry but his dad brings to much division.

Pista Joska says:

Alles sehr schön. Aber zuerst zusammen die Nummern 10 und 1. Eine empru.ONLINE Brünette und eine anderem Blondine. Es wäre unfair, wenn ich 4 wählen würde

Jesse McCord says:

I'd prefer he go elsewhere, honestly. The circus he would bring with him (thru no fault of his own, mind you) would be too big of a distraction for the caliber of player he is. On top of that, LeBron has strong Lavar Ball potential, imo. And on top of THAT, it has long been stated that the plan is for LeBron and Bronny to play together in the NBA before LeBron retires. James will turn 39 in December of Bronny's freshman year. Chances are he ain't coming back for a 2nd year regardless of his performance. I just don't see the upside.

Devin Posey says:

If he does go to college I definitely would love to have him in Carolina
