North Carolina At Chapel Hill

The North Carolina Tar Heels have added a walk-on to their basketball roster for the 2022-23 season, bring the total roster count to 18 players. This walk-on is none other than Beau Maye, the young brother of former Carolina basketball player Luke Maye, and older brother of current Tar Heel quarterback Drake Maye.

Beau joins an experienced team returning four starters in Armando Bacot, RJ Davis, Caleb Love, Leaky Black during the second season of the Hubert Davis era. Carolina will be looking to get back to the Final Four for the second year in a row after ending Coach K’s career before falling just short against Kansas in the national championship game.

Beau was added to the roster on September 28, in enough time for him to participate in Carolina’s “Live Action” activities last Friday evening. He scored eight points, including two three-pointers just before halftime.
