The North Carolina Tar Heels have already received a great deal of preseason hype ahead of the 2022-23 men’s basketball season. They were overwhelmingly selected by ACC media members to win the league, while Armando Bacot was chosen as the preseason conference Player of the Year, while being named to the All-ACC first team along with Caleb Love. RJ Davis was selected to the second team.
Isaiah Wong (Miami), Terquavion Smith (NC State), and Jeremy Roach (Duke) join Bacot and Love on the first team. Jayden Gardner (UVA), Dereck Lively (Duke), Justyn Mutts (VT), and PJ Hall (Clemson) join Davis on the second team.
Duke’s Dereck Lively was recognized as the preseason Rookie of the Year.

The ACC is a diluted product. Syracuse and Pitt would both be better teams if they were still in thr big east, where they could focus on their own local recruiting, networks, etc. Uprooting those teams from decades long coalitions they helped formed because of football has done both the acc and those teams a disservice.
The acc isn’t all that good, I honestly think we could go 18-2. I mean we don’t have another top 5 team in the conference, we could theoretically go undefeated. Not saying it’ll happen but we have an almost unfairly experienced team bc of covid 5th yrs along with ridiculous talent
Being completely honest our entire starting lineup theoretically could be all acc. The voters would never do that but they all might deserve it.
Lol! Jeremy Roach above RJ is ludicrous. It’s not being bias either. Bob Cousy Award Nominees doesn’t know our team evidently. Lol. Caleb Love should have been nominated for the Jerry West Shooting guard nominees and RJ for the Bob Cousy List. We have the starting back court coming back as Juniors who played in the National Title game and are former McDonalds All Americans. That is unheard of in todays modern era of College Basketball. My prediction is that RJ wins ACC POY and he is the 4th Tar Heel to win the Bob Cousy Award. The Leaky madness and disrespect needs to stop. He shut down some of the country’s best scorers last year. I know Defensive POY usually is a guy who is a rim protector and blocks shots but there needs to be an evaluation of Defensive stopping percentage and efficiency. As a team we are going to be a lot different defensively. We are going to trap more and pick up full court, 3/4 court and half court more. FYI Coach Pac’s audio kept breaking in and out. Idk if it was on my end or his. I think that we go 18-2 in the conference. GDTBATH
