#12 North Carolina had a picture perfect opening night at Carmichael against Jackson State, taking the win 91-59. Courtney Banghart’s squad turned defense into offense all night, forcing 20 turnovers and scoring 22 points off the opportunities created. And on offense, the Tar Heels simply couldn’t miss at points, shooting a strong 60%. Individually, four Tar Heels scored in double figures: freshman Paulina Paris (13), Eva Hodgson (13), Kennedy Todd-Williams (20), and Alyssa Ustby (19). Ustby added 10 rebounds and 5 assists.

Black athletes need to take history lessons these PWI wouldn't have you in the early 70s and once they decided to tolerate you now everyone has jokes about the HBCUS. HBCUS WERE THE BREAD AND BUTTER FOR MANY GREAT ATHLETES PRIOR TO DESEGREGATION. BELIEVE THAT.

Scoring was not the problem for JSU but too many turnovers and lack of defense
