The North Carolina Tar Heels got off to a “slow start” against College of Charleston. Although they scored 43 first-half points, they trailed by seven at halftime. Armando Bacot only had 1 point and 1 rebound at that juncture. Bacot and Caleb Love exploded in the second half, scoring a combined 44 points. Leaky Black was electric on both ends of the court. RJ Davis just continues to do RJ Davis things. Freshmen Tyler Nickel and Seth Trimble have been aggressive and not afraid of the moment.
Carolina still has multiple questions to answer: Who are we as a rebounding unit? What are the specified defined roles on this team? When will Puff Johnson be healthy and whose minutes is he taking? Will Jalen Washington be effective when he fully returns from a high school injury?
Coach Hubert Davis has a lot to figure out, but it’s a long season and he has proven the ability to make the necessary adjustments.
