#1 North Carolina moved to 3-0 on the season with a 72-66 victory over Gardner-Webb. Four of the Tar Heels’ starters reached double figures against the Runnin’ Bulldogs, with Caleb Love leading the way by scoring 20 points. He’d add 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Pete Nance had a scorching hot start and finished with 18 points on 3-5 shooting from beyond the arc with 5 rebounds before fouling out. RJ Davis had a 14-point, 10-rebound double double in the win.

Looks like our defense stayed home tonight
My blood bleeds Carolina Blue since birth and I'm old-school. This Carolina team is very talented but they are struggling very early on at the start of this season. I'm afraid that if they were to come up against a real caliber team they will get annihilated why? Because they're still finding their cohesiveness that should've been worked out since last years team at least from the starting 4 Leaky, Love, Davis and Bacot! They have a great bench of new bloods that are transfers like Pete Nance. Hubert Davis has his work cut ✂️ out for him if this team is going to complete their road of redemption. Time to put away the gitters and get back to business as usual and play to the strength of their team and show that they mean business and play strong throughout! I wish they would've started out ranked well below #1 because they are not playing as a number one ranked team and before long they will be humbled and knocked down from that #1 spot like they need too, so that they can regroup and rethink their direction and play with heart and tenacity moving forward to the goal of becoming the next national champions that they've all returned for to complete that road of redemption. This is certainly not the 2017-18 team but they're just as talented!
I get it. But if you're a true fan, you know it's gone take time to get things running smoothly, irregardless of what we brought back. Come January we will be running like a well-oiled machine. Go Heels.
Some teams play to their competition and I think this unc team is 1 of those teams. They have struggled early so far thus season but they have gotten it done and found a way to get the victory. As a Duke fan yes I would have definitely gotten a laugh had they lost any of these games but they didn't, they stuck together and found a way to win which is what this team does. 1 point or 20, against a ranked opponent or unranked a win is a win. This is a team capable of making it back to the Championship game. I do look forward to the Duke vs Unc games though

Terrible performance by UNC. They gotta toughen up and play like a number 1 team because judging by their schedule, they finna be facing some real tough competition pretty soon. Hopefully Hubert Davis toughen them up in practice.
3 Close games and the win by 6 against a 0-3 garner-webb team. Does not look like a #1 team to me. So many excuses about how they are a late blooming team but this is the same team from last year. They actually got better??? But we forget that this team wasn't ranked either last year now there rank #1.. yeah I can't wait to see them Play some real competition. Smh let everyone else tell it these teams are all going to be in the tournament lol
I actually go to Gardner webb and a die hard UNC fan was having a hard time who to root for; Gardner webb not a bad team tho
