North Carolina vs. Portland:  The top-ranked Tar Heels had to really battle a tough Portland team to get a 89-91 victory. It was a back and forth game that had 13 lead changes and six ties, with the majority of those lead changes coming in the second half. Pete Nance led all scorers with 28 points. Nance also had seven rebounds and two assists. Caleb Love had 23 points, four assists, three rebounds, three steals and a block. Armando Bacot had another double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds.
