Everybody was ready to write off UCONN three weeks ago LOL. I actually think UCONN has the deepest team in the nation right now with 4 players who can go for 20+ on any night (Fudd, Edwards, Ducharme, Senechal) and Nika Muhl playing absolute in your face defense and dishing out double-digit dimes game after game. Their only real weakness is that they have no real "go-to" player in the crunch…YET. If Azzi becomes that for them, they may be in position to extend that final four streak after all. Aaliyah Edwards did a tremendous job shutting down Czinano yesterday and Aubrey Griffin has looked great at both ends of the floor. Ayanna Patterson would be a starter on 99% of Div I teams and she is fighting for any minutes at all.
I actually think #1 – #3 are exactly right — those are the three best teams in the country as of right now, and they may well stay that way all season long. UCONN gets another top 10 test Sunday against Notre Dame.
