Pitt got the job done at home against No. 25 North Carolina, 76-74. Pitt was led by a monster scoring effort from Jamarius Burton, who had 31 points on 14-17 shooting and willed the Panthers to keep things close when it looked like the Tar Heels would pull away. Pitt’s defense closed out the game beautifully, holding Carolina without a field goal for almost the full final 6 minutes of the game as the Panthers moved to 3-0 in conference play. For The Heels, Armando Bacot had 22 points and 13 rebounds.
