North Carolina travels to Charlottesville in search of its first true road win of the season AND its first win at John Paul Jones arena since 2013 (current 7 game losing streak). The Tar Heels have been playing more consistently through Armando Bacot, and Armando Bacot has been facilitating at a higher level, particularly over the past seven-game stretch. His assists are up and his turnovers are down. He’s scored 20+ points in 5 straight games. Bacot is simply playing at a different level right now.
What to watch for in this game?
1. Will Leaky Black once again be deployed defensively on Kihei Clark? He was last year and it was devastating to Virginia’s offense.
2. Carolina’s three-point shooting, and RJ Davis’ in particular, is slowly creeping up. Davis is near his career average and the Tar Heels are just shy of 32%. The question is: Can Caleb Love, who has over 30% of UNC’s attempts this season is still sub-30%. How will Love, Davis, and the rest of the team shoot from deep in this one?
3. Will the bench produce at or near the level they did against Notre Dame?
4. What sort of lineup will Hubert Davis deploy? More of the 3G lineup? Will Pete Nance play?

I really hope tonight is a win. I’ll be in attendance with my wife who is a UVA fan. One of us will be much happier than the other after the game 😂
It will be a tough game for the team but I think it is a very much needed one. If they come in and execute their fundamentals, especially in playing consistently good defense and rebounding the ball, then they can definitely win this game.
If they play smart and tough defense unc will win this game.
I would have said Harrison for leading scorer. Fave team not to make final four 🫠
