North Carolina lost ACC Preseason Player of the Year Armando Bacot to an ankle injury less than two minutes into Tuesday night’s game at Virginia, where the Tar Heels have now lost eight in a row. With fellow starting front court player Pete Nance already sidelined, and despite a valiant effort from RJ Davis, Caleb Love, Leaky Black, Jalen Washington, Seth Trimble and others, Hubert Davis’ team could not get their first true road win of the season.
Washington played wonderfully filling in for Bacot, finishing with 13 points and six rebounds in 27 minutes. The Tar Heels hung around just long enough to potentially spring the upset, but it was not meant to be as they couldn’t get a defensive stop.

I know Hubert is an smart man when it comes to basketball and knows his roster better than I do, but sometimes his substitutions patterns or lack there of don’t make any sense at all maybe that something he is still learning but it’s frustrating to watch . Makes you wonder if the players getting frustrated too
Coach definitely should have played Styles last night because look what happened in the Baylor game last year in the second round of the March madness tournament Caleb love was in foul trouble and Brady got ejected and he provided a spark off the bench with 9 points.
With McKoy, Leaky and Dunn in the game at the same time there is no scoring. McKoy should never be on the court. I’m not trying to be mean but he doesn’t bring any value to the team
Isaac, you are a cruel man for that thumbnail lol. In all honesty, I'm not overly upset about this loss because it showed us just how talented our bench really is. It sucks that it is taking this long for us to see that in action, but at least we saw it. Jalen Washington brought much needed energy when we needed it. Honestly, if we had just figured out our offense just a few minutes earlier, we might have still won the game.

No what UNC can’t overcome is Hubert’s atrocious playing of McKoy. Caleb has been killing the team and Hubert has done nothing to reign him in. He threatens to bench people but he doesn’t.

I feel.unc wins with bacot alone Def with him and Nance both. They still only lost 7 without 2 key players.. I just hope bacot is okay
Credit UVA for closing the gap with hustle plays right before halftime and following that up with those 3 pointers in crunch time. We had our chances in this one. I thought Jalen Washington's number would have been called after Bacot went down but I feel like coach called on the wrong player in that moment. March is not that far away. We have to make the best decisions because our margin for error is smaller than last year.
I hope McCoy leaves next year because he is a wasted body can't play can't shoot can't pass can't defend Hubert needs to tell him he can find another team next year don't waste a scholarship on McCoy

Love Hubert Davis, but I put this L on him leaving McKoy & Dunn in so long in the second half. One or the other & for short bursts.
