Will UNC's frontcourt (Bacot/Nance/Washington) ever be healthy? | UNC vs. Duke | WR transfers

North Carolina’s frontcourt of Armando Bacot, Pete Nance, and Jalen Washington has seemingly battled injuries all season long. All three have been banged up in some form or fashion essentially all season long, and while not an excuse, definitely provides an explanation for some of the losses this year. The frontcourt has been less hampered, and even got D’Marco Dunn back quickly. Caleb Love and RJ Davis have been stalwarts. If the frontcourt can find consistency, Carolina could be in store for a big run.

The UNC women’s team hosts Duke tonight for a massive ACC showdown. After an 0-3 conference start, the Heels have strung together 3 in a row, including wins over top-11 opponents Notre Dame and NC State. Duke is 6-0 in conference (the lone remaining undefeated ACC team in conference play). Carolina will need a big game from Deja Kelly rebounding from her 5-point performance against NC State on Sunday.

John Garcia, Jr. joins Isaac Schade to discuss Carolina’s two transfer WRs, Nate McCollum and Devontez Walker. McCollum, a slot receiver from Georgia Tech, and Walker, a big outside receiver from Kent State, slot in as nice replacements for Josh Downs and Antoine Green. Additionally both players still have two years of eligibility.

Eddie Cartwright says:

February will tell the story of this season. R.J. Davis has been incredible over the last month. Nobody should be panicking yet. Let's leave that to the UK fans.

The Regular Degular says:

Some of you "fans " are completely clueless to how team dynamics work. Y'all saying man up and should use the bench more; but the problem is all of your bigs have been hurt. We don't have any other bigs to put in. If your best player which is your best interior player gets hurt do you not think that would affect the team? Also what do you think would happen if his replacement, Pete Nance, gets hurt? And then the freshman that's supposed to back both of them up has been hurt! Who do you bring in off the bench to replace those three? Y'all sound silly.

Hertford Moore says:

With all do respect Sir but every team deals with injuries, I wouldn't be scared to bet you if you ask other coaches they would tell you that they have players that's dealing with injuries too and some even playing with aches and pain but they are not making excuses they still have to go out and play with what they have, that's why you have reserves in case players get injuries, So Carolina is not the only team that has injuries or injured players, So we needs to stop trying too make excuses for why Carolina not playing well or why they haven't lived up to expectation it's really kind of ironic because teams like North Carolina, Duke, UCLA and Kentucky Reserves are just as talented as most other teams starters excuse me for saying this but I don't think other teams feel any sympathy for Carolina, Kentucky and Duke that they are not winning as much, and last and for all, no disrespect but Carolina wasn't playing really out standing basketball before some of the guys got injured, all I can say is next man up and Man-Up Thank you

jeffrey Polly says:

With Brady not drawing all the defense caleb and RJ are not the same players as last year. Defenses can focus on the backcourt and we don’t have wing shooters like Brady to knock down shots. Face it we’re not as good as last year PERIOD…………

Django says:

If we have injuries, we should be able to rely on our very talented bench players who don’t get enough time. Either let our bench shine for us or push them away to another team that will let them shine.
