Inside Carolina’s ‘Coast to Coast’ Podcast crew is joined this week by UNC basketball commit James Brown. They talk about Ian Jackson’s commitment and what the 2024 recruiting class can accomplish.
Jackson joins guard Elliot Cadeau, wing Drake Powell, and forward James Brown in what is UNC’s highest-rated class since its 2020 group (ranked No. 2 overall). Jackson is the third top 10 recruit to commit to UNC during the Davis era and will be the second to enroll, alongside Cadeau. He’s the highest-rated player to commit to UNC since Harrison Barnes (No. 1) in 2010, and the highest-rated shooting guard to commit to UNC since Wayne Ellington (No. 9 in 2006).
Brown is ranked the No. 27 overall prospect in the junior class. He chose the Tar Heels over offers from Arizona State, DePaul, Duke, Florida, Georgia, Harvard, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State, Missouri, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Providence, and Wisconsin, among others. He took official visits to Missouri, Michigan State, UNC, Notre Dame, and Illinois.
