I have some bad news to share with some of you Carolina fans out there that you may not want to hear me explain this but this is my two cents. You’re not gonna want to hear this. 2017’s final four we played in against Gonzaga was better then our rival spoiling Coach K’s retirement party. You’re not gonna want to hear this but last year’s final four was not the greatest ever you’re not going to want to hear this but 2017 was. I honestly wouldn’t rank last year’s in the top 10. They say that last year’s final four game against Duke was the greatest game ever but I beg to differ. I honestly think that 2017 our redemption in Glendale, Arizona was the greatest final four game ever. Just the atmosphere there was both a lot more electric plus it was historic when we beat Gonzaga I thought that was the greatest ever. Plus, in April of 2022, COVID was still around so people wore masks which meant that by contrast unlike University of Phoenix Stadium (where people did not wear masks) amplified the crowd noise level. In 2017, the acoustics were loud unlike last year at The Caesar’s Superdome in New Orleans. Plus, Justin Jackson’s dunk was far better then Caleb Love’s dagger last year. Just how we though played sloppy we beat the heck out of The Zags. That Polish player Przemek Karnowski was mentally tough but we beat the ever living heck out of him. Isaiah Hicks, and Theo Pinson played at the next level elite against that guy. Roy beating Mark Few in his final championship was far more exciting then Coach K’s last game. Plus, because of COVID, only like 60,000 masked fans attended with a lot of empty seats at The Superdome. A lot more fans attended in 2017. In 2017, 81,000 maskless fans attended to a sold out rowdy University of Phoenix Stadium National Championship after we lost the following year to Villanova. The game we had against Oregon that Saturday night was quite possibly the top 10 greatest ever final fours arguably. For all those reasons, 2017 was far better imo. Let me know what you think? For those very reasons, do you think 2017 was better? I certainly liked our 2017 final four the best. I liked 2017 so much better than last year’s final score against Duke. Sorry. Kennedy Meeks was an outstanding basketball player for us. He should have his jersey hung in the rafters honestly. Nothing against Brady Manek but Kennedy Meeks was better. This is my opinion. 2017’s final four when we beat Gonzaga was the greatest ever, and not us vs. Duke last year in Coach K’s last game, I’ve got news for you that you will not want to hear. I thought 2017 was what should be argued as the number one final four greats ever in history. Sorry but not 2022. Sorry to disappoint you. 2017 was as great as it gets. 2022 was not as good as 2017 not even close. What do you think?
