Wake Forest was in control from the start and kept North Carolina at arm’s length after leading by 26 in the 92-85 home win. Tyree Appleby was absolutely on fire, as the Wake guard scored 35 points, dished out 11 assists, and grabbed 7 rebounds. He also went 23-28 from the free throw line. Damari Monsanto followed up with 16 points and 7 rebounds. For the Tar Heels, Caleb Love’s shooting touch came alive in the second half, as he scored a team-high 24 points, 22 of which came in the second half. Armando Bacot added a 17-point, 11-rebound double double in the loss.
