A fluke? We beat them twice in the biggest game. 2nd duke beat us by 5 points they scored 62 and 63 points. Duke isn't a great team. Yall are dumb.

No bench points in the last game of the season against Duke. A whole season to figure out advantageous rotations. For me, that says it all about Hubert Davis and his inability or unwillingness to develop his bench. I thought after awhile Nance shouldn't be starting. Puff is fragile. Why not use Stiles and Nickel?
How can he even come out of his mouth and say Duke made this series sweep confirm last year's Carolina wins were a fluke? This isn't the same Duke team, Roach is the only Duke player this season that was on last year's Duke squad. Last seasons Duke team was beaten twice when it counted most by Carolina, this seasons Duke team is obviously better then this year's Carolina team but Carolinas team last year was better then last year's Duke squad it's like comparing apples to oranges. Let's be honest there are not any great teams anymore. Not much fast break any more. The game in this era depends way to much on jump shots and the 3. To me in this era even the number 1 team looks weak.
Just like we can't accredit Coach Davis for the run in the tournament last year. We can't put it on him for the failure this year.
The only difference is Brady Manek, but we have to remember even with him the team had troubles during the season. It wasn't until tournament time that they got on a hot streak.
That's it the guards are streaky shooters. When they hot and making threes the team looks like a contender,, but when Love and Davis isn't making them it puts pressure on the team.
That's why teams double team the best player in Bacot. That forces the guards and Pete to make threes.
The reason why Coach limits the bench play is that they haven't shown him they can make a three or dive to the basket to make a shot, not to mention defence.

Not that easy living up to pre season expectations as the #1 team with returning players from a final four team huh UNC. The fact Kentucky went 38-1 in 2014 is insane.
As much as I abhor Mr Fanta and his comments about our tarheels, I have to agree. Just this once though.
People keep hating on Hubert but it was just a year ago he took these same players to the national title game. I'm scratching my head as to why he wasn't able to do it again.

They are just not that good. Tournament is single elimination. Last year, Love suddenly made shots, but he was never a great shooter. That's the reason why he didn't turn pro, not love for UNC. Stop. This year he is showing who he really is. If they got in tournament, maybe he would once again play above his level.
Dook hasn't beaten anyone on this 6 game win streak. They got their first Quad 1 win in 3 months against a bad UNC team. Woof.

UNC needs a Sean Miller
Lol I’m not trying to be a hater too much but all the sports media people that were so high on UNC preseason should lose credibility. UNC is a big brand so they latched onto their tournament run last year and negated how mediocre they were in the regular season. Their tournament run was a fluke and/or Hubert Davis may not be a great coach that can motivate his players or make adjustments mid season or even mid game.
Sounds like 3 Duke fans talking about UNC. Specially fat boy on the end. Duke will not win The ACC tournament or the NCAA
Last year's run was a fluke
As a Carolina fan, I can say with 100% certainty that Fanta is 100% correct.
They do not deserve to be in the tournament and it really isn't even close. They have not improved . They were never the #1 team coming into the season. Anyone who truly follows them should know that this core has been mediocre for almost all of 3 years with the exception of a great run last year.
But that being said, I fully expected them to be a top 10 type team and they have been unfocused, not cohesive and basically indifferent.
Hubert gets a ton of props for what happened last year but he needs to take the brunt of the blame here because he did not instill accountability in this team. He let it get out of hand and that needs to change.
I'm not sure he's the long term answer but I will reserve judgement until he has his own recruits.
When I check the box score I see a team that can't shoot if they had shoot in low forties they would have won and it's been like that in a lot of their losses and the man is playing with somebody else's recruits but I know how guys like you think, it's so hard to change isn't it
So now Hubert can’t coach cause he lost to Duke. A rookie coach that made it to the National Championship. He hasn’t done a great job but these are the same guys that said UNC made a mistake by hiring him last year. How many first round pics does UNC have really? These guys are hilarious, anyone can have a podcast I guess.
