Well the preseason #1 thing was a joke to begin with, anyone ‘REAL’ UNC basketball junkie knew that from the beginning. This is only a moderately talented team, as it was last year. They should have been ranked in the middle of the pack at the start of the season. With Hubert not replacing Manek with a real bonafide gunner and his inability to develop and use a bench, the writing was on the wall. Hell, I was pissed at what he did to Kerwin Walton last year, it disgusted me. Yes, Kerwin had some defensive challenges but he was a bonafide gunslinger that could have added some perimeter punch. On top of that he dId absolutely nothing with Styles, a very athletic guy who was the #13 SF in the nation out of HS, and also does nothing with Nickel who was pegged as a big time scorer. Instead he just ran his starters ragged, again! Hubert also appears not to be much of an X’s and O’s guy either, there was absolutely no variety in the offense nor an ability to make proper adjustments.
Next year does not bode well either unless some of the 2024 guys reclassify or we strike gold in the portal. We will need a real shooter and a real big (Jalen Washington can shoot but he’s as soft as a baby napkin). UNC should put Hubert on a short leash and pray that Kenny Smith is serious about getting into coaching.
So funny…Preseason #1 and all that hype…..Worst coaching job of all time…They couldn’t buy or cheat their way out of this one…I love it so much 😂🤣
