How good they are individually is debatable but how poor they were as a team is undeniable. Let's be honest about this team for a minute. Other than that late season run that they had last year, they are the same poor shooting team that frustrated Roy into retiring. We all forgot that but they were looking like a bubble team most of last year too until then so expectations were way inflated.
i am a Duke fan. However, I can honestly say I am beyond shocked that this is how UNC has played out, basically with the same team as last year. I wish we had answers to “what is the issue?”
Such a frustrating and disappointing season for sure. It's probably for the best that this team doesn't make the tournament; I imagine they'd go out in the first round. I'm not going to throw any hate at the players or coaching staff, but we need to see genuine improvement from all returning players and the coaching staff next season. Having another season like this would not fare well for us.

Carolina if invited to the NIT should absolutely accept the invitation because they need the practice and Coach Davis should use a lot of their bench players for next year's development. They aren't going to get better together sitting at home. Play free, have some fun, because they didn't have much fun this year during the ACC season!
Well the preseason #1 thing was a joke to begin with, anyone ‘REAL’ UNC basketball junkie knew that from the beginning. This is only a moderately talented team, as it was last year. They should have been ranked in the middle of the pack at the start of the season. With Hubert not replacing Manek with a real bonafide gunner and his inability to develop and use a bench, the writing was on the wall. Hell, I was pissed at what he did to Kerwin Walton last year, it disgusted me. Yes, Kerwin had some defensive challenges but he was a bonafide gunslinger that could have added some perimeter punch. On top of that he dId absolutely nothing with Styles, a very athletic guy who was the #13 SF in the nation out of HS, and also does nothing with Nickel who was pegged as a big time scorer. Instead he just ran his starters ragged, again! Hubert also appears not to be much of an X’s and O’s guy either, there was absolutely no variety in the offense nor an ability to make proper adjustments.
Next year does not bode well either unless some of the 2024 guys reclassify or we strike gold in the portal. We will need a real shooter and a real big (Jalen Washington can shoot but he’s as soft as a baby napkin). UNC should put Hubert on a short leash and pray that Kenny Smith is serious about getting into coaching.

Hubert Davis needs to take a hard look at what he is doing! These kids got worse under his leadership. He never tried to develop a bench at all! You couldn't blame these bench kids from transferring. Very hard to understand their offensive sets no movement no fast breaks he needs to go back to what made carolina great get back to that and coach these kids up. Make adjustments he doesn't do anything gets out coached every game. He has to own this it's on him he's the coach!

Hey Dan caught your show for 1st time this season,. Idk what YouTube doing. I've seen Lot of Tarheel apologists doing shows making excuses for Hubert Davis. Oh he's inexperienced. Than WTH IS NORTH CAROLINA DOING GIVING A HC JOB TO A INEXPERIENCED GUY FOR. This was a absolute horror show all season. What you saw on display is a Man incapable of being a leader , lots like his playing career. North Carolina made a huge mistake giving him an extension. To see his inability to develop anyone was most troubling. If I'm a big recruit I'm really 2nd guessing committing or staying right now. There's nothing Davis would be able to say and that's not hyperbole, that's reality. This guy's not a HC. Not a leader. Your losing to teams you got no business ever losing too over n over. And your media comeback is religion nonsense ? This is basketball not church leader. Boy does the Athletic dept got huge problem. U can't let this push another year hoping Davis figures something out. The personality for this job is not their. And that my friend you cannot learn. You cannot figure out.
Carolina fan here for almost 40 years I going to miss not seeing my team in the NCAA tournament this year. We need to hit the portal for a true point guard if cadeau doesn't reclassify and get a shot blocker in the portal to. I hope Caleb Love moves on also

What a difference a year makes! Coach K screwed up last year! By not retiring quietly. And the whole Carolina team faltered this year after being ranked#1. Coach K should not have announced his retirement. And Carolina should not have been ranked#1.
What a awful awful let down of a season the worst sice 2009-10 season if you take the 19-20 covid season out bc no ncaa. This season we legit don't make it, awful well my opinion is give Hubert next season let's see whT happens.
