Armando Bacot will play a fifth season at North Carolina. The two-time First-Team All-ACC big man, holder of the school’s all-time rebounding and double-double records, announced Wednesday that he’s going to return to UNC for 2023-24.
“I’m using my last year of eligibility,” Bacot told Stadium. “I felt it was the right decision for my future. … The primary reason I am coming back is because I don’t want to leave North Carolina this way. But I also know I need to improve and feel like this is the best place to do that.”
Bacot averaged 15.9 points and 10.4 rebounds this past season, earning Associated Press Third-Team All-American honors.
Greg Barnes and Sherrell McMillan join host Tommy Ashley to discuss why Armando decided to come back to UNC and what that means for the program.
