The North Carolina Tar Heels still have five open scholarships ahead of the 2023-24 college basketball season. Hubert Davis’ team lost Caleb Love, Puff Johnson, Dontrez Styles, Tyler Nickel, Justin McKoy, and Will Shaver to the transfer portal and have already received a commitment from Brown transfer Paxson Wojcik. While the eyes of many are on the transfer portal to fill those available scholarships, it’s time to turn our attention to Elliot Cadeau (class of 2024 UNC commit) as a very real re-classification candidate. Host Isaac Schade explores the possibilities of what the roster might look like with Cadeau, why it would make sense or not to bring him in, etc. Could he play point and allow RJ Davis to shift over to the ‘2’? Cadeau’s passing acumen has earned him comparisons to UNC PG Kendall Marshall. What will happen? We’ll wait to find out.

I hear ya but if all the current players stay, then Elliot would create a log jam at guard(which is not always bad)..if Seth stays he will get more pt obviously and he is not a shooting pg..he attacks and drives and make plays and passes very well.. if you can fill the rest of the roster with the real needs then you have to do that 1st…and let us not sleep on Drake Powell…he's moved up a lot in the rankings and 247 has him 5 star..
Our 24’ Big man James Brown transferred to Link Academy to play with Elliott for their Senior year. I’m sure that conversation has been had. It makes more sense for Ian Jackson to reclass before Cadeau.

If Elliott comes in, he's starting. Day 1. RJ would slide off ball. Is that a small backcourt, yes. But it's not rare in college basketball anymore. Seth and Simeon would be your backup backcourt.
Simeon is 6-4 and Dunn is 6-4. Simeon doesn't really play PG for Roselle. He plays off ball A LOT!
This team could EASILY run a 3 guard lineup, space the floor and FINALLY give Mondo all the room he needs.
Elliot, RJ, Simeon could easily all start (or even Dunn over Simeon) and your stretch 4 with Mondo. Think the old Villanova team with Kyle Lowry, Allen Ray and Randy Foye. 6-1, 6-1 and 6-4. That team was THIS CLOSE to beating UNC and making the Final Four.
It don’t matter how crowed the back court is with guards if they still can’t score. RJ was the only consistent scorer when heathy.
If Elliot reclasses how do you keep him RJ and Simeon all happy they all wanna run the point

R.j. at point, Wilcher or Dunn at the starting 2. I wouldn’t sleep on Dunn. He looked solid last year, and could be even better if he has a consistent role.

The only problem is if he reclassifies would he be an instant starter? If so what do you do with RJ put him at the 2 spot ? In my eyes defensively they would not be very gd at all . We are pretty crowded at the pg/ combo guard . Just don’t see him coming if Rj already there just not an gd fit. Unless Hubert works his magic and can make it work and earn his millions of dollars to figure it out
Ian Jackson's statement is essentially exactly what GG Jackson said last year before he reclassed…food for thought
