Marcus Paige, whose jersey hangs in the Smith Center rafters, is expected to return to the North Carolina basketball program and join Hubert Davis’ coaching staff, multiple sources close to the program confirmed to Inside Carolina last week.

Paige is filling the job opening created by Jackie Manuel’s departure. Manuel worked as director of team and player development for UNC across the last two seasons, before leaving earlier this month to take an assistant coaching position at American University.
