UNC Basketball: What to do with final 3 scholarships? | Leaky Black at G League Elite Camp

Following D’Marco Dunn’s transfer out, North Carolina now has three scholarships to utilize, if they so choose, for the 2023-24 season. Hubert Davis’ third team will return four scholarship players from last season (Armando Bacot, RJ Davis, Jalen Washington, Seth Trimble) while adding two freshmen (Simeon Wilcher, Zayden High) and four transfers (Harrison Ingram, Cormac Ryan, Jae’lyn Withers, & Paxson Wojcik). How will Coach Davis utilize these three? Will he use one on Elliot Cadeau? Will he give any to walk-ons to avoid potential drama of having scholarship players at the end of the bench not playing?

Leaky Black took place in the G League Elite Camp over the weekend. Multiple Tar Heels graduated. Women’s tennis and lacrosse each moved onto the Elite Eight. Baseball swept NC State at home for the first time since 2006.

Aiden Hager says:

I feel like front court depth should be #1 importance right now. Armando can be the best big in the country, but with his ankle issues and other injuries, I think he would be better suited playing around the 25-30 minutes/game mark instead of 35-40. We don't need some incredible big that steals minutes from Armando, just one that can hold down the fort while he is resting or out of the game with injury. I actually think Armando's production would increase with less minutes, call me crazy.

UNC 910 says:

If UNC has another bad year, any chance Hubert gets fired?

Brett Weeks says:

Well I would think one is for Cadeau if he is reclassifying if so I would grab another shooter with some size 6’5” – 6’7” ish also find back up for bacot but who knows what’s going to happened
