I think it would be more accurate to say their is internal issues at UNC—losing that many players via the portal and now one asking out of his NLI. All coming off the heels of a poor season that had 4 starters returning from a championship runner up squad.
All eyes will be on Davis and how he’s using, or not using, his bench to keep starters fresh and rotational guys happy.
WTF went on last year?? “We were overwelmed by the pressure of being preseason 1.” What a crock of $hit. The creampuff local media will go along with this but smart people know there is way more to the story as to why the Heels went limp and never recovered.
There is always turmoil during a coaching change. Hubert was lucky to catch lightening in a bottle during their finals run in 21-22. It is reasonable that the team would struggle for a while. Now he has been able to shape the roster the way he wants. We'll see how big of an issue CL really was. If this year does not look better, Davis will def be on the hot seat.

UNC was a sleeper last year. Unfortunately for them they never seemed to wake up.
I think that UNC will be good on offense but the question mark is rebounding and defensive since they will most likely be playing a small ball starting lineup with 3 players playing out of position.
In my opinion, it's sort of pathetic that UNC did not play better last year. There was no excuse to drop all the way down to most underrated for 2023. Hard to fathom!
It's really saying something when the team ranked No. 1 to start the season is then deemed most underrated team for 2023 is just bananas, and I agree they are the underdogs to keep an eye on

No one on the roster plays above the rim, Bacot is injury prone and in case you haven’t noticed in the last 2 years, they cannot play with a lead, but instead play panic basketball in tight situations.
They cannot execute a set play due to their coach (a nice guy) being a proponent of freelance basketball, thus rarely ever being able to execute a set play after time-outs.
Don’t let Goodman hear positive feedback on UNC and Hubert
