The Jarin Stevenson saga rolls on. The class of 2024 F has yet to set any firm timelines, but reports suggest that he’ll release either a top three or actually commit this week. The front-runners currently seem to be North Carolina and Alabama, but the sheer fact of discussing a “top three” introduces the possibility that it might not just be a two-dog race. Can Nate Oats slide in and steal Stevenson from UNC’s backyard? Will the Crimson Tide’s involvement with transfer Grant Nelson play any sort of role in the decision-making process?
If Stevenson commits to UNC, the follow-up question becomes “When will he come to Chapel Hill?”. The Tar Heels currently have 10 of a possible 13 scholarship players, headlined by Armando Bacot and RJ Davis. Is it more beneficial to Stevenson’s development to play one more high school year or in college basketball?

He is more valuable to the Heels if he stays in 2024. If he is leaving school a year early, go to Bama. The Heels would love to have him, but need players willing to take reduced roles.
Yeah he’s had the UNC offer for years and if he’s not sure by now recant the offer and say we don’t want him. We don’t need any of these players who don’t want to be here. After this past year doesn’t take a bright person to figure that out
