Armando Bacot made a good decision in returning to school. So many players of his similar ilk went undrafted, even though they had a chance to return to the collegiate ranks. A multitude of college-friendly bigs didn’t hear their name called on Thursday night, including Oscar Tshiebwe, Drew Timme, and others.

nope…I would still look for Boogie Fland to replace Cadeau since he could be a 1 and done..or another uncommitted high level guard if not him..and there are still 4 and 5 star big men that uncommitted so why not try and see what happens..and no Duke and UK and others are not dealing with the portal/leaving stuff like we are…Duke lost a 5 star top 10 guy b/c a 5 star top 10 guy stayed lol damn if we had that kind of "problem" I'd be ecstatic lol

Moneyball theory applied to college basketball… If other coaches are putting in less effort to go after high school players, then that's where Hubert should (continue to) strike.
Besides, recruiting high school players means more face time and vetting vs. the madhouse of the transfer portal.
I think moving forward, it'll be tough for us to have more than 10 "acc caliber" players on the roster any given season. Imo, the best way to go about filling the remaining 3 scholarships in the future is to go find lower ranked guys that are local, are real Tar Heel fans, and/or have familial ties to UNC and fill out the roster with them. I think these types of guys will be more likely to stick around for 4 years rather than transfer down in pursuit of playing time. As such, they'll provide stability and help each new wave of incoming transfers and recruits acclimate to the UNC culture.

I think we have a legit shot with Boogie Fland assuming Ian Jackson is as loyal to UNC as he says he is. That duo alone would be incredibly dynamic and I'd love to see it in Chapel Hill.

In case of injury imo we need to get as many scholarship players as we can. Probably ain’t going to get them because HD already has a bad reputation for not playing his bench but we can pray for the best
