On Sunday evening Alabama guard Jahvon Quinerly unexpectedly announced intent to enter the transfer portal as a grad transfer. It’s highly unlikely he makes sense for North Carolina, but it’s worth having a preliminary conversation with the young man to determine the feasibility. The backcourt rotation appears to be full with RJ Davis, Elliot Cadeau, Seth Trimble, Cormac Ryan and Paxson Wojcik.
Leaky Black and Pete Nance have each signed a contract with an NBA franchise. For Black, it’s a two-way contract with the Charlotte Hornets. For Nance it’s an Exhibit 10 contract with the (family legacy) Cleveland Cavaliers. We eagerly await their performance at summer league.

Quinerly would be a must add for UNC in a world where Cadeau stayed in the class of 2024, but since he didn’t I think we are set on on-ball guards for this year. A guard like Toussaint from WVU could maybe be a better fit, but he seems like he wants to stay in the Big 12 if not at West Virginia. Overall at this point with camp having started I think any remaining transfer moves for this season are based heavily on early evaluations of guys like Washington and Wojcik and whether or not the coaches think they are ready/able to be regular contributors off the bench. If so we are set let’s roll the dice with 10 guys and if not go out and get the best grad transfers available and, especially if it is a talented backup center for Bacot like Jordan Brown, basically promise to make them the sixth man of the year and give them all the excess NIL money you have haha
Why go after another guard when we need another 4 or 5. That move would be extremely stupid especially since we are OVER stocked on guards
No thanks. Please don’t speak this into existence. Don’t want him at all. I don’t think he is actually a high level player. Everyone we have in positions 1-3 are better fits for UNC.

kid is a PG at 6'1" and would expect to start. cadeau expects to start as well. would love to have him where he would have to split minutes b/w PG and SG. too bad he is not an awesome PF.
Thanks for doing this show. It gives me something positive to listen to on the way to work instead of news that either infuriates me or depresses me. Can't wait for this coming basketball season!! Going into the season knowing we have a dependable bench is comforting but I really look forward to seeing that starting five run hard knowing they can get a breather if needed.
