Hubert Davis was named the 20th head coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels’ men’s basketball program on April 5th, 2021, and saw immediate success leading the Tar Heels to the 2022 National Championship game. But, before his time on the bench of Carolina he was a standout player for UNC. Davis was recruited by Dean Smith and Roy Williams and had a huge impact on the success of the basketball team while in Chapel Hill. Davis helped lead the team to an ACC title in 1991 and to a Final Four appearance in 1992. Hubert Davis left an indelible mark on the Heels program as a player, and still holds the all-time record for 3-point field goal efficiency at 43.5%. Enjoy this look at Hubert Davis the player in this edition of the ACC Digital Network’s “Player To Coach” series.
