Incoming West Virginia transfer James Okonkwo just finished competing in the FIBA U20 European Championships. He averaged just shy of a double-double in the tournament and had just over two blocks a game. Given his performance it’s time to ask the question: Are we underrating what James Okonkwo will be able to do for the Tar Heels?

I really believe ti be a good addition to the tarheels he bring some good things to the table nice rebounding some scoring , rim protector probably 10 to 12 minutes per game
I believe he will fit pretty well he will definitely bring energy almost a psycho T.
Okonkwo is extremely difficult to project, imo. Given his youth and limited overall experience playing basketball, I think there is a better chance for him to make substantial improvements over the next 2 years than you would expect from just about anyone else coming in with a similar resume. That said, I think he'll work very well in the role he'll be asked to fill next season. The areas of concern that have surfaced in international play, namely outside shooting and turnovers, are things that I'm not that worried about because 90% of his shot attempts are gonna come within 5 ft of the basket and he'll rarely be putting the ball on the floor.
