2023-24 UNC Basketball Roster Preview Series: Harrison Ingram

The 2023-24 UNC Basketball Roster Preview series continues this week, moving to the juniors. We start with Harrison Ingram. We’ve already tackled the incoming freshmen (Elliot Cadeau and Zayden High) and the two returning sophomores (Seth Trimble and Jalen Washington). Ingram is the first transfer we’ll discuss in our roster preview series. The Dallas-area product comes to Chapel Hill from Stanford University where he spent two years playing for former UNC assistant coach Jerod Haase. Ingram led the Cardinal in assists last year and will look to bring that skill set east to Carolina. Will his role at Carolina, not having to be the number one option, allow him to thrive and flourish?

Lucas Dunlap says:

I try to not get my hopes cuz of what happened last season but I can’t help but think this team is going to be very good. Like we have almost all new pieces that are improvements. We still got rj and bacot and with dudes like Elliot, Cormac, Harrison etc. we have a real tournament lineup. We need Hubert to level up this season which I think he will and the heels should have a great season

The Nintenerd says:

The way I look at it is that Cormac Ryan will have the more immediate impact on this team from the go while Harrison Ingram will grow into our most well-rounded transfer in terms of his skill-set. I've always liked what Harrison Ingram brings to the table. Don't worry too much about his 3-point percentage, I'm pretty sure that even at Stanford his percentage from strictly catch-and-shoots was above 40%. That's what he will be doing much more of at Carolina rather than shooting off the dribble.

Jesse McCord says:

I think at the time that Ingram committed, he was undoubtedly the most valuable of the transfers. IMO, Ryan has now leap frogged him on that list simply due to the addition of Cadeau to the roster. He makes Ingram's most standout skill, his playmaking ability, a luxury instead of a necessity for the team.

jack harrington says:

Go tar heels cant wait for the season to begin!
